True story. Years ago,  my cat, Johnny, was very ill. It was not a good situation. Johnny had stopped eating, couldn’t do the usual catbox dirty deeds, and required a weekend trip to the Emergency Clinic for an IV. On Monday, we transferred him over to our regular vet.

We picked up the records and brought him over. During the transfer, we looked at his progress notes. One said, “Johnny eating; reading.”

He died several weeks later. Our vet made a charitable donation, in Johnny’s name, to our local library.
